minecraft won't launch issue solve

Try these fixes:

Then try them until you find one that works for you; you might not need to try them all.

  1. End your Minecraft process
  2. End incompatible software
  3. Run Minecraft as administrator
  4. Use the Compatibility mode
  5. Remove Mods
  6. Update your video card driver
  7. Reinstall the Minecraft

Fix 1: End your Minecraft process

Open the Task Manager to end the task manually if the launcher closes but Minecraft doesn’t start after you click the Play button. It may help to reboot Minecraft if it won’t launch.

There have been reports from some users that when this issue occurs, there will be two MinecraftLauncher.exes. Stop both processes and reboot the game.

Here’s how:

  1. Open the Task Manager by pressing the Ctrl + Shift + Esc keys together on your keyboard
  2. Right-click on Minecraft under the Processes tab and select End task from the menu.
Click on End task

Make sure Minecraft is working correctly by launching it again.

You may need to open Settings in the launcher after you have fixed the issue so that you can select “Keep the launcher open while the game is running”. There are two possibilities:

  • It doesn’t respond. Closing it would make Minecraft run normally again.
  • As long as the launcher stays open, Minecraft works fine.

It is recommended to update your drivers to improve your gaming experience and computer performance.

Fix 2: End incompatible software

Before running Minecraft, you should close all background apps. There is a list of software in the Minecraft Help Center that is known to be incompatible with Minecraft. These should be removed.

These include Discord, AVG Antivirus, BitDefender, etc. Disable your antivirus and firewall, shut down Discord, and run Minecraft.

It’s safer to switch to a different antivirus program if it’s running well.

When your antivirus and firewall are disabled, you are at risk of clicking on suspicious links or websites.

Fix 3: Run Minecraft as administrator

It is possible that the problem is a privilege issue. If Minecraft is run as an administrator, it is able to fully utilize its features, so this should resolve your issue.

Choose Run as administrator from the right-click menu.

Run as administrator

Start Minecraft and verify that it is working correctly.

Fix 4: Use the Compatibility mode

Previously created games should still be compatible with the latest version of Windows 10, but some may run poorly or will not launch at all. In the compatibility mode, Windows can use settings from earlier versions of the OS, which is helpful when Minecraft won’t launch.

  • Choose Properties from the right-click menu.
  • Select the option Run this program in compatibility mode for under Compatibility.
  • On the drop-down menu, choose the operating system.
  • Click Apply > OK.

Test Minecraft to see if it’s working properly.

Fix 5: Remove Mods

In Minecraft, there is a wide range of mods available, and using mods is normal. In some cases, mods may cause the game to behave differently or cause unseen problems. Remove all mods you’ve installed while playing Minecraft.

In most cases, the issue is caused by mods if the game is working properly. To find out which mod is causing the problem, you can check each mod individually.

In case your problem persists, there is no need to worry. You can also try another method.

Fix 6: Update your video card driver

It is likely that driver issues are causing the “Minecraft won’t launch” problem. In some cases, this error may occur if you use an outdated or incompatible video card driver. You can also improve your computer’s performance by updating drivers in addition to solving this problem.

To update your drivers, you have two options:

Option 1 – Manually –

For this method to work, you must have some computer skills, as you must find the right driver online, download it, and install it step by step.

Option 2 – Automatically (Recommended) –

It is the fastest and easiest way. All of this can be done with a few mouse clicks, so even newcomers can do it.

Option 1 – Download and install the driver manually

In order to get the latest drivers, you need to visit the manufacturer’s website, find the drivers appropriate to your Windows flavor (for example, Windows 32 bit) and download the driver manually.

You can now install the driver by double-clicking the downloaded file and following any on-screen instructions.

Option 2 – Automatically update video card drivers
